Wim Hof Method ( Highly Recommended)
I have chanced upon the Wim Hof method. I do find it useful in calming my thoughts especially after a yoga session in the morning. The method mainly encompasses 2 activities namely, breathing and cold shower therapy.
So cold therapy basically means a cold shower which I will take after my morning workout/Yoga session. After which, I will find a comfortable spot and lie down and do the breathing exercises- you could be in a seating position and any postures that make you at ease.
For the breathing exercise, it is relatively simple, you just have to take 30 deep breathing cycles and after which you will hold your breath for 1 to 2 minutes depending on how your body can adapt to the practice of holding breath. After the 1-2 minutes, you are supposed to take a deep breath and hold for another 15 seconds. You do this for 3 rounds.
This is the YouTube link that will guide you in this exercise:
For this practice, when I am holding my breath, I see myself in a new dimension. You could chat with people you want to chat with (decease or present), go to places that you wanted to go (forest, beach, mountain tops) and look through and get into a whole new paradigm. It is magical and you should try it.
After the whole practice, I will feel fresher and calmer to handle the day ahead. It will take mindfulness to a new level. It is an antidote to stress and depression management if you just try to do it every day.
To a better self, a better life. Namaste!
